New England Patriots' Gronkowski undergoes surgery

  • New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has undergone a successful surgery to mend a broken left forearm.

The Boston Herald reported the news on Monday, less than 24 hours after the third-year pro from Arizona posted seven receptions for 137 yards and two touchdowns as the Patriots beat the Indianapolis Colts 59-24.

Team physician Dr Thomas Gill performed the procedure at Massachusetts General Hospital, according to a source quoted by the paper.

Gronkowski is expected to be out of action for four to six weeks.
