Nadal beats Ferrer in Acapulco final

  • Second-seeded Rafael Nadal beat top-seeded David Ferrer in an all-Spaniard final at the $1.213 million Mexican Open tennis event on Sunday.

Nadal recorded a 6-0, 6-2 victory against Ferrer on the red clay at the Fairmont Acapulco Princess.

Coming off a knee injury that forced him to take a seven-month hiatus, the win marks Nadal’s second title since his comeback. He captured the Brazilian Open title in Sao Paulo two weeks ago.
