Lyon snatches seven wickets as Australia win Adelaide Test
December 13 , 2014
Despite a valiant 141 by Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Murali Vijay's 99, Australia won the first Test at Adelaide by 48 runs.
Nathan Lyon, the Australian off-spinner, took a career best haul of 12 wickets as India fell short of 364, the target set by Australia.
Lyon, who took seven wickets in the second innings, finished with figures of 12-286 for the match.
Kohli said India had been determined to chase the total and played to win but “the whole Australia team put up a great fight”.
