Lukaku leaves Chelsea for Everton with 'no regrets'

  • Romelu Lukaku, who has signed a five-year contract with Everton, said he had no regrets over the £28m move from Chelsea, as per media reports.

The 21-year-old had joined Chelsea three years ago, but spent two seasons on loan at Everton and West Bromwich Albion.

“[Chelsea] is a great football club,” the Belgium international said. “I wouldn’t say anything bad about that club but I didn’t want to be on the bench for 10 years.”

Everton manager Roberto Martínez described Lukaku’s move to the Goodison Park club as a “real football statement.”
