London Olympics to come in $740 million under budget
June 15 , 2012
The London Olympics is set to come in under its $14.5 billion budget with $740 million of the contingency funding left.
The remaining money is expected to be returned to the Treasury.
The $14.5 billion budget, which included a $3.1 billion contingency, was set in 2007.
It came in at almost four times the estimated cost from the time London bid in 2005 after taking into consideration previously overlooked costs such as tax and increased security expenses.
