Liverpool agree to compensation deal for Swansea's Rodgers

  • Liverpool have agreed on a compensation deal with fellow Premier League club Swansea City for manager Brendan Rodgers and three of his staff.

The soccer club are scheduled to hold a news conference later in the day when they are expected to reveal Rodgers as the successor to Kenny Dalglish.

Swansea announced on Wednesday that Rodgers had been offered the Liverpool job.

Rodgers guided Swansea to an 11th place finish in the Premier League last season.

Liverpool have been searching to replace Dalglish, whose second spell as coach ended when he was dismissed after the club ended the season in eighth place, their worst finish for almost two decades.
