Lions receiver gets one year supply of free pizza

  • Nate Burleson blamed his last month's car crash on a carry out pizza that slipped on to the floor in his vehicle.

Police confirmed that the Detroit Lions wide receiver was driving home completely sober after watching 'Monday Night Football' and had picked up a pizza from a local restaurant. When one of the pizzas slipped, Burleson tried to grab it and hit the median wall.

The player is now rehabbing after breaking his arm and hopes to return back to the field soon. The good news is that DiGiorno sent him a personal pizza cutter as well as a year's worth of supply of its frozen pizza. Hence, Burleson won't have to worry about grabbing pizzas while driving for at least another year.

He took an Instagram photo of the generous gift and thanked the company.
