Lionel Messi scores twice as Barcelona beat Elche

  • Argentine international Lionel Messi scored two goals to lead a 10-man Barcelona team to an emphatic 3-0 win against Elche, according to media reports.

A red card shown to Javier Mascherano for a tackle, involving Garry Rodrigues left Barcelona with only ten men on the field.

Showing his class, Messi scored in the 42nd and 63rd minutes while El Haddadi scored in the 46th minute for Barcelona.

The Argentine star had captained his side to reach the World Cup finals in Brazil in July, but it lost to Germany.
