Lance Armstrong paid rival to throw a race

  • An Italian cyclist named Roberto Gaggioli said he threw a race back in 1993 after being paid by Lance Armstrong to do so.

"He offered me a panettone as a present and wished me a Merry Christmas. In the box there were $100,000 in small bills," he said. "Lance said that my team, Coors Light had to agree it. I understood that it had all been decided."

Armstrong won the race and took home a million dollar prize.
