Injury forces Woods to withdraw from WGC-Bridgestone

  • Tiger Woods has withdrawn from Ohio’s WGC-Bridgestone Invitational after a back injury.

A shot possibly played from an awkward stance may have caused the injury. “I just jarred it [the back] and it has been spasming ever since,” he said.

There are doubts over whether the 38-year-old Woods will be fit in time to play in the US PGA.

The world number 10 had earlier missed three months after undergoing back surgery in March.
