High school coach never punts
November 18 , 2013
High school football coach Kevin Kelley didn't punt even a single time when his team went to a state championship and continues to not do it till today. According to statisticians, it's beneficial to not punt but "coaches are afraid."
"No one wants to be the guy who gets fired because he stopped punting," Mallory Rubin at Grantland said.
However, this approach works for Kelley since he's consistent but coaches at the NFL and colleges can't be expected to stop punting "if they're lambasted whenever they give it a go."
