High crime suspect in Lunenberg high school is victim's own mother

  • Authorities now suspect that a person who spray-painted inappropriate graffiti outside the home of a 13-year-old Massachusetts high school boy, was his own mother.

The hate crime resulted in ending the high school's football season earlier than usual. Andrea Brazier is now believed to be a strong suspect since cops searched her home, which she shares with her African-American husband Anthony Phillips, and found cans of spray paint.

Brazier, who is white, didn't stick to one story during the investigation and eventually stopped cooperating with the authorities. She mentioned that her husband and son were not involved in the incident. Members of the high school's football team were initially considered suspects and their final games were called off after no one took responsibility for what happened.
