Green Bay Packers extend contract with Aaron Rodgers
April 27 , 2013
The Green Bay Packers extended their contract with quarterback Aaron Rodgers on Friday.
The five-year deal is worth $110 million, shattering the previous NFL record of Joe Flacco's six-year $120.6 million contract.
Rodgers will earn $62 million in the first three years and $40 million this season.
His $22-million average will top Flacco's annual salary of $20.1 million.
Rodgers, 29, is now in his ninth season with the Packers after being selected 24th overall in the 2005 NFL Draft.
Since becoming the team's starter in 2008, Rodgers has thrown for 21,332 yards, the most in NFL history for a starting quarterback in his first five years under center.
