France's Parker may miss London Olympics

  • French basketball team leader Tony Parker could miss the London Games due to a slow recovery of an injury to his left eye.

The San Antonio Spurs guard was injured at a New York nightclub ten days ago and had to undergo surgery to remove a shard of glass from his eye, which he was at risk of losing.

Parker expected to resume training after a week of rest but said on Sunday he was still sidelined and may have to withdraw from the 2012 Olympics.

If he is given the green light by doctors, Parker will only be available from July 7 so will miss four warm-up matches.

Parker has filed a lawsuit against the New York nightclub where he was injured during a fight that broke out between two other patrons.
