Former Washington football coach dies

  • The former University of Washington football coach Don James died on Sunday at the age of 80 and reports suggest that the cause of his death was pancreatic cancer.

James played quarterback at the Miami (Fla.) and graduated with a degree in education in 1954.

He led Huskies to a share of the national title in 1991 and resigned as coach at Washington two years later. James was also selected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1997.
