Former track coach to sue Texas

  • Former University of Texas women's coach, who is black, has accused the school of race and gender discrimination and has filed a lawsuit, seeking $1M in damages. 

    Bev Kearney resigned on Jan. 5 since Texas was planning on firing her for having an unacceptable relationship with an athlete in 2002. 

    Texas revealed that a white assistant football coach, wasn't fired for having a similar inappropriate relationship. 

    Kearney also said the university administrator is involved inappropriately with a subordinate but refused to reveal the name.
