First NBA game in Mexico canceled due to smoke
December 6 , 2013
NBA may have to wait another 16 years to have a game in Mexico at this rate.
The game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and San Antonio Spurs scheduled for last night got canceled since smoke filled the arena before fans arrived the venue.
A generator malfunction is to be blamed for pouring smoke into the arena and even forcing players to leave their locker rooms and go back to their buses. This same game is now expected to be played in Minnesota in the future.
A Spurs TV analyst said he thought they were practicing fireworks when it became all cloudy. "A lot of teams do that before introductions. But then the smoke just keep creeping and it wasn't white smoke."
