First doping case in Sochi Olympics
February 22 , 2014
An unidentified German athlete failed a drug test for the Sochi Olympics and the German Olympic Committee mentioned that it was notified about its athlete being tested positive. Reports suggest that the backup sample will be tested today but the athlete, sport or substance has not been named as of yet.
Olympic athletes face doping charges in case both their samples come out positive and it's rare for the two to not match. Anyone found guilty is disqualified and removed from the Games and medals.
Strength and endurance sports involve majority of such tests.
