Fifa president Sepp Blatter set to announce reform plans

  • Sepp Blatter, the president of football’s world governing body Fifa, is set to announce his plans to reform the scandal-hit organization. The 79-year-old will also be part of talks with the executive committee of Fifa to decide a date for a fresh presidential election.

Last month Blatter had announced he was stepping aside as Fifa head, just after his re-election, amid a bruising corruption scandal involving former and current Fifa executives.

Reports indicate that the new election may be held in mid-December or early next year.
