Federer To Face Djokovic, Murray Plays Tsonga In Wimbledon Semi-Finals

  • Six times champion Roger Federer stormed into the Wimbledon semi-finals, having secured a win against Russian Mikhail Youzhny on the Center Court. In a match that lasted 1hr 32 min, Federer defeated 26th-seeded Youzhny 6-1, 6-2, 6-2. Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge were there to watch Federer win the match. Federer shall now face defending champion Novak Djokovic at the semi-finals. Djokovic convincingly secured his place with a 6-4, 6-2, 6-2 win over 31th-seeded Florian Mayer. The Serbian champion played the Russian on Court I for about 1hr 45min.

    The other semi-final shall be played between Andy Murray and French player Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. The Andy Murray – David Ferrer match was the highlight of the Center Court of the All England Club. Murray secured a passionate 6-7 (5), 7-6 (6), 6-4, 7-6 (4) victory over the seventh-seeded Spaniard. Fifth-seeded Tsonga played German player Philipp Kohlschreiber on Court 1 to enter the semi-finals after managing a 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 victory.
