Tennis ace Roger Federer has urged Olympic officials to include squash in the program for the 2020 Games.
Speaking in Rotterdam after his loss to Julien Benneteau in the quarterfinals of the World Indoor Tournament on Friday, the 17-times grand slam champion said: "I think it's a wonderful sport. It's unfortunate some sports don't get the opportunity to be in the Olympics,
"I think squash would deserve it. They run a great tour and they have great players and characters. I'd personally be very happy for them."
Martial arts karate and wushu, rollersports, wakeboarding, squash, sports climbing, wrestling and a joint bid by baseball and softball are the candidates vying for the one open spot for the 2020 Games.
