Federer Beats Nick Kyrgios in Thrilling Semis, To Meet Arch Rival Nadal in Final of Miami Open

  • 35 year old Roger Federer defeated 21 year old Nick Kyrgios of Australia in a thrilling 3-hour contest to book his berth in the final of Miami Open.

    He is all set to play against his arch rival 30 year old Rafael Nadal (the King of Clay) of Spain for 37th time.

    While the Swiss took five sets to beat Nick in a marathon five setter contest (7-6 (11-9) 6-7 (9-11) 7-6 (7-5)), Nadal beat Fabio Fognini of Italy in straight sets (6-1 7-5).

    The 18-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer took his record tally to 18 wins and 1 defeat in 2017.

    It will be a historic moment for Federer as his last Miami Open win was back in 2006.
