Federer beats Ferrer to reach London semis

  • Defending champion Roger Federer secured his place in the last four of the ATP World Tour Finals after beating David Ferrer on Thursda.

    World number two Federer, who is eyeing a record-extending seventh title at the end-of-season finale, beat Ferrer in a 6-4 7-6 victory at London’s O2.

    The victory brings his career record over the Spaniard to 14-0.

    Ferrer will now Juan Martin del Potro for the other semi-final spot from Group B after the Argentine beat Serbia's Janko Tipsarevic 6-0 6-4.

    The players to qualify from Group A will be revealed later today when world number one Novak Djokovic faces Tomas Berdych and Andy Murray plays Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
