Farc set to release kidnapped Colombian general
November 30 , 2014
Farc rebels in Colombia are likely to release Gen Ruben Dario Alzate along with two other hostages, media reports say.
The rebels said in a statement that the handover process had already begun. Farc said it hoped “the weather will be on our side on this humanitarian mission”.
The top army officer was abducted on September 16 in an isolated area of Choco province, which led to the suspension of peace talks in Cuba between the government and rebels.
