Ex-MLB player sentenced for criminal sexual conduct
October 4 , 2013
Former major league outfielder Char Curtis was charged with inappropriately touching teenage girls and was given a prison sentence of seven to 15 years.
Barry County Circuit Judge Amy McDowell referred to Curtis as being a "predator" and a "threat to any community" he gets into but Curtis, who thinks of himself as a Christian servant said he could write a book with one of the victims, "and it could have a positive impact on a lot of people."
Although Curtis mentioned that three out of his six victims this summer lied, his statement is hard to believe given his history: He even sexually assaulted girls at a high school in Barry County last year and one of the victims said he touched and kissed her breasts.
Another one of the victims spoke at the hearing and mentioned that Curtis knew exactly what he had done.
