England score 350 in 44 overs, level ODI series against New Zealand

  • Needing 350 to win, England broke the record for their highest ever run chase in a one-day match to secure a comfortable victory against New Zealand at Trent Bridge and level the five-match series 2-2.

The hosts took only 44 overs to reach the target, with seven wickets to spare. Their previous best was 306-5 in 2000 against Pakistan.

Eoin Morgan’s and Joe Root’s 198-run partnership was the highlight of the England innings, with Alex Hales joining in the run fest with a 68 off 37 balls.
