England beat India in T20 by three runs
September 8 , 2014
England scored an exciting three-run victory against India in a Twenty20 match at Edgbaston, as per media reports.
Mahendra Dhoni, the Indian skipper, failed to hit a six of the last ball, which would have won the match for the visitors.
England captain Eoin Morgan’s 71 off 31 deliveries helped the hosts pile up 180-7. Virat Kohli gave India a good start, scoring 66, but England’s bowlers restricted the scoring later on.
India were, however, still the favorites, with 26 runs needed in the last two overs and Dhoni holding at one end — but the nail-biting finish went England’s way.
