Eli Manning to undergo surgery
April 11 , 2014
New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning has opted to undergo surgery after suffering a high ankle sprain for over three months.
A procedure known as "debridement" will be performed by a renowned specialist, who has also done a similar procedure on quarterback Cam Newton.
"I went through the recovery and rehab after suffering the sprain," Manning said. "I was still experiencing some discomfort as I began my normal offseason preparation, and after consultation, we felt the right thing was to have Dr. Anderson clean out the ankle. The doc tells me I should be running in about six weeks."
