Djokovic reaches fourth round at Wimbledon
June 30 , 2013
Novak Djokovic is ranked as the number one player in men’s tennis and he really did justice to that billing by entering the 4th round of Wimbledon, which is regarded as the most prominent tournament in tennis, in a majestic fashion. He literally flayed Jeremy Chardy in the 3rd round encounter and won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 against the 28th seed from France. Djokovic is set to face Tommy Haas, the 13th seed from Germany next. Incidentally, his victory against Chardy was his 50th win on grass but till date none of the wins have been as ruthless as this one.
The Serbian star has stated that going into the match his confidence was fairly good and throughout the match everything happened in his favor. He also stated that he was able to do whatever he wanted. The World No. 1 expressed his satisfaction at being able to play virtually exactly as he had wanted to in the match saying the feeling was really lovely. He also exuded happiness at being able to return well against a player like Chardy who is known for his powerful serves. He reasoned that his ability to find the proper balance helped him on this occasion.
