Deaf NFL player inspires a young deaf girl
January 26 , 2014
Millions of people are aware of the fact that the Seahawks' Derrick Coleman is deaf but the recent updates regarding the player exchanging letters with the girl he inspired are heartwarming.
A 9-year-old deaf girl wrote him a letter, thanking him for all the encouragement. Coleman then wrote a letter by hand and responded to her.
"I want you to know that I always try my best in everything I do and have faith in you & your twin sister too," the letter reads. "Even though we wear hearing aids, we can still accomplish our goals & dreams!"
The father of the little girl said Coleman is someone to look up to "and he made her feel like hearing aids are cool."
