DC asks Redskins to change the racist name
November 7 , 2013
Redskins are now being pressurized by the DC Council over name change.
Council member David Grosso said the team's argument that this name is tied to its heritage is like claiming the pain of the Native American people holds less worth than the team's football memories.
Although, polls indicate that a majority of fans are against the name change, Grosso said "a name change will not in any way jeopardize the loyalty that the fans have for this team."
Team owner Dan Snyder continues to refuse to change this name despite of all the criticism by President Obama as well as members of Congress.
