Davis Cup: Britain take 2-0 lead over US

  • In a remarkable comeback after being two sets down, Englishman James Ward defeated John Isner 6-7 (5-7) 5-7 6-3 7-6 (7-3) 15-13 to give Britain a 2-0 lead over the US in the Davis Cup in Glasgow.

    Ward, the World number 111, took six match points and nearly five hours before he could seal victory against the American.

    In the first match, Britain’s Andy Murray defeated Donald Young 6-1 6-1 4-6 6-2.

    At two matches down, it’s going to be “really tough for the USA”, Leon Smith, Great Britain’s captain, said.
