Dallas Stars sack head coach Glen Gulutzan

  • The Dallas Stars announced on Tuesday the dismissal of head coach Glen Gulutzan.

The decision comes after the Stars missed the playoffs for a fifth consecutive season in 2012-13 in the Western Conference.

The team embarked on an offseason housecleaning soon after the shortened season ended by sacking general manager Joe Nieuwendyk. He was replaced by Jim Nill.

Gulutzan posted 64-57-9 in just two seasons with the Stars.
