Cricket World Cup: Zimbabwe scrape through against UAE

  • Zimbabwe were saved the blushes as they defeated UAE by four wickets in a keenly fought World Cup contest on Thursday in Nelson, New Zealand.

Batting first, UAE, who were playing their first World Cup match in nearly two decades, scored 285-7, their highest one-day international total.

Though Zimbabwe managed to successfully chase the target thanks in large part to Sean Williams’s solid 76, their margin of victory, with only 12 balls remaining, was too close for comfort.
