New Zealand started their World Cup cricket campaign on a winning note, beating Sri Lanka by 98 runs in Christchurch on Saturday.
The tournament co-host put on 111 for the first wicket, with skipper Brendon McCullum hitting 65 off 49 balls.
A half-century by Kane Williamson and a quickfire 75 by Corey Anderson helped New Zealand reach an impressive 331-6 in 50 overs.
Sri Lanka, the finalist of the 2011 World Cup, could manage only 233 in response.
