Cricket World Cup: New Zealand beat South Africa, reach final for first time
March 24 , 2015
South Africa could not overcome their Cricket World Cup semi-final jinx as New Zealand stormed in to the final of the tournament in a thrilling encounter that was finally resolved with a massive six by Grant Elliott with one ball to spare.
New Zealand were set a revised total of 298 in a rain-hit match, and the equation of five runs from two balls had all spectators on the edge of their seats.
The Black Caps recovered from 149-4 to score a famous four-wicket victory that took them to the final for the first time. But it was once again a heartbreak for South Africa.
