Cricket World Cup: India thrash UAE by 9 wickets

  • Building on their great start to the World Cup, India crushed UAE by nine wickets in a Pool B match at Perth on Saturday, taking the world champions’ tally to three comprehensive wins in three matches.

    India dismissed UAE for a mere 102, the World Cup’s lowest total so far, and then cruised to reach the target in 18.5 overs, with Rohit Sharma scoring a 50.

    India's bowling attack was led by Ravichandran Ashwin, who grabbed four wickets. The Indians also impressed on the field.
