Cricket: Marlon Samuels leads West Indies' fightback against England
April 22 , 2015
A defiant 94 by the West Indian batsman Marlon Samuels frustrated England’s efforts on a lifeless pitch as the hosts reached 188-5 at the end of day one of the second Test in Grenada.
Following a rain-delayed start, England’s bowlers reduced West Indies to 129-5 but Samuels hit several boundaries and remained unbeaten as he led the hosts’ fightback.
England, who haven’t won away from home in more than two years, did themselves no favors by dropping three catches and failing to pile on the pressure in the second half of the day.
