Chelsea seek to convert power station into stadium
May 5 , 2012
Chelsea have bid to buy a southwest London power station in order to redevelop it into a 60,000 capacity stadium.
The design to convert Battersea Power Station includes building a 15,000-seat single-tier stand.
The power station’s landmark four chimneys would remain as part of the design.
Earlier this year Chelsea said expanding their current home, Stamford Bridge, made no economic sense.
Apart from Chelsea, other parties are also reportedly interested in the site.
