Champions League: Messi scores twice, equals Raul's record

  • Barcelona’s Lionel Messi has equaled Raul’s all-time record of 71 goals in the Champions League.

    The Argentine international reached this feat in his 90th game, scoring twice against Ajax and leading Barcelona to a 2-0 victory. 

    The first goal came in the 36th minute, Messi heading the ball in. His second goal of the match — and 71st of the League — came in the 76th minute.

    With this victory, Barcelona have qualified for the last 16.
