Champions League 2017: Historic Comeback of Barcelona with 6-1 Win Against Paris Saint-Germain

  • Routing Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Spain’s Barcelona made a historic comeback with 6-1 and qualified for the Champions League quarterfinals.

After losing the first-leg 4-0 in Paris, few had predicted Barca would reach the last eight. But Louis Enrique’s side, having started well, got a massive lead of three goals until a few minutes into the second half. The third goal was scored by a Lionel Messi penalty in front of a packed stadium in Camp Nou, Barcelona.

As the home side was coasting, PSG was put back in control by Uruguayan striker Edison Cavani's volley. With this one goal scored, Barca now needed to score three more times.

Barca’s hopes were soon renewed with Neymar's exquisite free-kick with two minutes of normal time remaining, followed by two goals in stoppage time.
