Buffalo Bill GM Buddy Nix to step down

  • Buffalo Bills general manager Buddy Nix announced on Monday he is to step down.

However, he will remain with the organization as a special assistant. Nix had been in the position since December 2009.

The Buffalo Bills are yet to name a successor. Media reports suggest assistant GM Doug Whaley could be promoted to the post.

Nix, 73, first joined the Bills in 1993 as a scout and spent eight years in that role.

He then rejoined the team as a scout in January 2009 after eight seasons with the San Diego Chargers.
