Bingham beats Murphy 18-15, wins World Snooker Championship

  • Stuart Bingham defeated Shaun Murphy 18-15 in an exciting final to win the World Snooker Championship at the Crucible.

    Starting the final session with a 14-11 lead, the 38-year-old won a one-hour-plus frame at 15-15. A break of 65 took him to 17-15, and a superb 88 gave him the title.

    This was Bingham’s first World Championship title, and he became the oldest champion since 1978. The title comes with a £300,000 prize and takes his world ranking from 10th to second.
