Bianchi undergoes surgery after head injury

  • Jules Bianchi underwent surgery after a crash at the Japanese Grand Prix left him with a severe head injury, as per media reports.

    The 25-year-old Marussia driver was injured after he hit a recovery vehicle, which led to the race being stopped after 44 laps.

    After losing control, the Frenchman hit the back of the recovery vehicle that was lifting another car. The unconscious Bianchi was taken to a nearby hospital, where CT scans showed he had suffered a head injury.
