Australia beat Pakistan, to meet India in Semifinal

  • Australia beat Pakistan by six wickets in the quarterfinal of the Cricket World Cup. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat but were bowled out for 213 with a ball to spare. The recalled Australian paceman, Josh Hazlewood, took four wickets for 35. Australia lost an early wicket of Aaron Finch when the score was 15. However, Shane Watson, who was dropped on six by Rahat Ali at fine leg, shared an 89-run stand with Steve Smith (65) and unbeaten 68-run stand with Glenn Maxwell (44 not out). He hit a boundary to get Australia to 216-4 in the 34th over. Australia will now meet India in the semifinal on Thursday.
