Ashes: Australia crush England by 405 runs at Lord's, level series
July 20 , 2015
Australia crushed England by 405 runs in the second Ashes Test at Lord’s to level the series 1-1. The hosts suffered a batting collapse after lunch and were bowled out for 103 in 37 overs, on the fourth day. Mitchell Johnson was the pick of the Australian bowlers, with figures of 3 for 27.
Earlier in the day, Australia declared their second innings at 254-2. While the run chase was always going to be tough for England, the manner of their capitulation — with more than a day of play left — was shocking.
