Ashes: Anderson takes 6 wickets as England seize control of third Test
July 30 , 2015
England took charge in Edgbaston in a spirited comeback after their Lord’s debacle, dismissing the Australians for 136 and reaching 133-3 at stumps on day one of the third Ashes Test.
England’s James Anderson bowled brilliantly, ending with figures of 6-47. With the fans firmly behind the home team, Ian Bell played some fine strokes for his half-century, but then gave away his wicket needlessly.
A confident England appeared to be a different squad from the one that had crashed to a 405-run defeat in the second Test at Lord’s.
