Armstrong 'did not come clean in expected way', says Oprah
January 16 , 2013
Oprah Winfrey said on Tuesday that Lance Armstrong "did not come clean in the way I expected" over claims he used performance-enhancing drugs.
Though the talk show host did not go into details of the lengthy interview, she told CBS News she was "satisfied" with his answers.
Winfrey added she had taken 112 questions into her interview with him, most of which she was able to ask.
Armstrong, 41, was stripped of his seven Tour de France titles by the sport's governing body last year.
He has maintained his innocence despite receiving a life ban from the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).
Speculation has been rife that he is seeking to come clean in order to return to professional sport.
The two-and-a-half hour interview was filmed in Armstrong's hometown of Austin, Texas, and is to be broadcast over two nights, starting on Thursday.
