Andy Murray beats David Ferrer to capture Miami title

  • Andy Murray beat David Ferrer 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-1) in two hours and 45 minutes on Sunday to win the Sony Open.

    The victory brings Murray his 26th career title and will see him climb to number two in the world rankings.

    The win also saw the Brit improve his personal record against Ferrer to 7-5.

    Ferrer was looking to become the first Spaniard to win the title in the tournament's 28-year history.
