2012 Olympics: Spectators root for athletes on Day 1

Thousands of spectators have made their way to the Olympic Park to watch athletes compete in the first full day of the London Olympics.
Around 22.4 million TV viewers in the UK watched Danny Boyle's opening ceremony celebration of British culture the night before.

Rowing events have also commenced at Eton Dorney Lake in Buckinghamshire
In total, athletes will compete in 19 sports on Saturday with medals due to be awarded in archery, fencing, judo, swimming and weightlifting.
